Terms and Conditions Applicable to Flight Certificates
|
- Certificates are valid one year from the date of issue.
- An assessment of $100 USD will be charged for any flight certificate extension or lost flight certificate.
- Certificates must be redeemed at a designated American Airlines ticketing location. All tickets for redeemed certificates shall be subject to American's Conditions of Carriage.
- Redemption is limited to one certificate per person, per ticket.
- Certificates are valid for travel only on American Airlines,
American Eagle and AmericanConnection and valid only on tickets issued on American Airlines ticket stock.
- Certificates will be void if altered and where prohibited by applicable law.
- Certificates are not redeemable for cash and are void if sold for cash or other consideration.
- Certificates are for personal use only and may not be used for group or business travel. Any such use will render all certificates issued under this agreement null and void immediately.
- All taxes and fees calculated and assessed at the time of ticketing (including, without limitation, passenger facility charges or other airport fees, international departure taxes and fees, federal excise segment taxes and security service fee) are the responsibility of the passenger.
Certificates are not valid until signed by the Program participant to whom the certificate has been issued.
- No stopovers or open jaws are permitted on trips using certificates.
- Tickets issued against certificates may not be reissued once travel has commenced.
- Tickets issued against certificates may not be combined with any other type of promotional awards.
- Coach Class tickets issued against certificates may be upgraded to the next cabin of service only using electronic upgrades for AAdvantage Executive Platinum, AAdvantage Platinum and AAdvantage Gold members.
- Qualified AAdvantage members traveling on tickets issued against Certificates are eligible to earn AAdvantage miles in accordance with terms and conditions of the AAdvantage frequent flyer program.

Terms and Conditions Applicable to Gift Certificates

- Certificates must be redeemed at a designated American Airlines ticketing location. All tickets for redeemed certificates shall be subject to American's Conditions of Carriage.
- Certificate will not be replaced if lost, stolen or destroyed.
- Qualified AAdvantage members traveling on tickets issued against certificates are eligible to earn AAdvantage miles in accordance with terms and conditions of the AAdvantage frequent flyer program.
- Certificates are valid for travel only on American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection and valid only on tickets issued on American Airlines ticket stock.
- Certificates are nontransferable and nonrefundable.
- Certificates will be void if altered and where prohibited by applicable law.
- Certificates are not redeemable for cash and are void if sold for cash or other consideration.
- Certificates are for personal use only and may not be used for group or business travel. Any such use will render all certificates issued under this agreement null and void immediately.

- Prepaid tickets may not be issued using certificates.

- Certificate amounts in excess of value of ticket issued my be refunded in the form of a miscellaneous charge order (MCO), which will expire one year from the date of issue and can not be extended.
