Update to earning on flights

Starting July 11, 2024, we’re updating the way you earn AAdvantage® miles and Loyalty Points on flights depending on where you book. Learn which flights earn miles and Loyalty Points and which do not.

Our partnership with Cape Air

Cape Air is one of the largest independent regional airlines in the U.S. You can earn and redeem AAdvantage® miles to book award travel on Cape Air.

Earn miles

You can earn AAdvantage® miles and Loyalty Points only when flying on an American Airlines marketed flight (booked as an AA flight number) operated by Cape Air.

Exceptions

You can’t earn AAdvantage® miles or earn Loyalty Points on Cape Air marketed flights (booked as a 9K flight number).
